- I want to buy a PC now. Can I install Windows 11 later?
Most Windows 10 PCs currently sold can be upgraded to Windows 11. In order for the PC to be upgraded to Windows 11, it must meet minimum hardware specifications and some functions require special hardware. The rollout plan for the upgrade is currently being finalized and is expected to begin in late 2021 and continue through 2022. The specific timing varies depending on the device.
- When can I upgrade my Windows 10 device from Windows 11?
If your existing Windows 10 PC is running the latest version of Windows 10, running the minimum hardware specifications is fulfilled, and the upgrade to Windows 11 can be carried out. The rollout plan for the upgrade is still being finalized, but for most of the devices already in use today, it is expected to be ready in early 2022. Not all Windows 10 PCs that are eligible to upgrade to Windows 11 can be upgraded at the same time. To see if your PC is eligible for the upgrade, download and run the PC Health Checker app. As soon as the upgrade introduction has started, you can check under “Settings” > “Windows Update” whether it is ready for your device.
- What if my PC doesn't meet the minimum hardware specifications? Can I stay with Windows 10?
