All of these layers are managed through one Norton account instead of several separate tools.
Most of the protection works without any action from the user. Downloads are scanned as they arrive, and websites known for phishing or fake login pages are blocked before a password can be typed in. Direct interaction usually happens in specific moments: switching on the VPN before connecting to a hotel, train or café network, or letting the password manager fill in the login for online banking and suggest a strong new password when a new account is created.
A second typical moment is an unexpected message with a link or a payment request. Before reacting, the user can ask Norton Genie, the built-in AI assistant, whether the message looks like a scam. On a Windows PC, the software also copies selected documents and photos to Norton's online storage automatically. The suite fits best for a person who banks, shops and works online and often relies on networks they do not control.
The VPN is fully integrated rather than offered as an extra download. It allows the user to choose a server location down to city level, and it includes Double VPN, which routes traffic through two servers, as well as IP rotation, which changes the visible IP address during a session. This matters for anyone who relies on public Wi-Fi regularly. The firewall monitors network communication and blocks connections that look unauthorised.
The 10 GB of cloud backup keeps copies of important files away from the computer itself, which protects them against a failed hard drive, a stolen laptop or files encrypted by ransomware. The password manager generates, stores and fills in passwords, including payment card data for online shopping. SafeCam alerts the user when an application tries to access the PC webcam and helps block that access.
Norton AntiVirus Plus provides the malware protection, the password manager and 2 GB of cloud backup, but it has no VPN, so it suits users who mainly work on a trusted home connection. This Standard edition adds the VPN and increases the backup space to 10 GB, which suits an individual who is often online away from home. Norton 360 Deluxe raises the backup to 50 GB and adds Parental Control, so it is aimed at families with children. Norton 360 Advanced adds identity-related services such as credit alerts and social media monitoring together with 200 GB of backup, with availability depending on the country.
Cloud Backup and SafeCam work only on Windows PCs, so Mac, Android and iOS devices receive the other protection layers but not these two functions. Parental Control is not part of this edition and requires Deluxe or a higher plan. The automatic deepfake detection currently analyses English-language videos only. VPN use is restricted by law in some countries, so frequent travellers should check the local rules at their destination.
Is the VPN included, or is a separate subscription needed?

Can I set up parental controls with this edition?
No. Parental Control is reserved for Norton 360 Deluxe and the plans above it. Families who need content filtering should choose one of those editions.
Is 10 GB of backup space enough for a complete copy of my PC?
